| F1 hybrid |
The first generation derived from crossing 2 distinct plants, usually when the parents are pure-bred lines and the offspring are vigorous. Seed from F1 hybrids does not come true. |
| F1 Hybrids |
Cultivars resulting from a cross between two different true breeding (referred to as inbred) parents. |
